This is the 3rd collaboration between Lawson and GODIVA. And like the other products this Gateau au chocolat was released in limited quantities.
I have read many blogs about how the writer had to visit a few Lawson locations before they could buy and eat it. As a sweets geek I was brimming with the fighting spirit, I thought to myself “I must eat this sweet!”
It’s about 9cm X 3.5cm.
The embossed chocolate plate with the champagne gold paper makes it look so luxurious. It is layers of Chocolate coating , chocolate mousse, chocolate chips and chocolate sponge cake ! I have never eaten such a decadent Gateau au chocolat!
Holy smokes! The thick chocolate mousse melted in my mouth! The bottom layer of chocolate sponge cake was dense like a brownie. It was a perfect match for the mousse topping. The chocolate coating was crispy and bitter sweet.
This was a chocolate cake for a grownups.
It was as good as the sweets from the expensive chocolatier.
Lawson also released a chocolate tart which they produced with GODIVA.
The tart was crispy and sweeter than the Gateau au chocolat.
Both are available in limited quantities. Hurry to Lawson, don’t miss out on this opportunity!
