Seven Eleven has just released a Wa (Japanese style) pancake!
Inside these pancakes you will find Kinako whipped cream, Shiratama sticky rice balls, molasses and Kinako.
I couldn’t pass up this opportunity, I love molasses and Kinako!
As soon as I opened the package a lovely aroma of molasses met my nose.
I couldn’t wait!
It was about 9cm in diameter.
As you can see from the photo, there was plenty of Kinako whipped cream inside.
I thought it was so innovative to put Shiratama balls inside the pancakes!
Oh man! These are so good!
A normal Dorayaki uses heavier dough, but using pancakes was such a good idea because the dough is much lighter and fluffier! They matched with the Kinako whipped cream.
The chewiness of the Shiratama brought the texture to another level!
I always say, Kinako’s mild flavor and molasses’ flowery flavor is a perfect couple.
The bitterness of the molasses was little like the taste of coffee.
If you find this dessert, have a bite!
