Enjoy Oysters and Sake at Ueno Park During This Great-Value Event! “Setouchi Gourmet Fest”
The “Setouchi Gourmet Fest” will be held at Ueno Park in Tokyo. This event will bring together a variety of Setouchi’s specialty products, and you can even enjoy in-season oysters and oyster hotpot soup for free!
What is Setouchi?
Setouchi is the general name for the coastal region where Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu surround the Seto Inland Sea (including coasts of Hyogo, Okayama, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, Tokushima, Kagawa, and Ehime Prefectures).
If you follow the event’s official social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), you can enjoy samples of dishes for absolutely free! All you need to do is show your phone’s screen on the day of the event with proof that you followed.

Plenty of Setouchi Delicacies!
There will be a variety of other Setouchi specialty dishes available at the festival, including Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, as well as “kawara soba,” a dish from Yamaguchi Prefecture where cha-soba are cooked on piping hot kawara (a type of Japanese roof tile), then dipped in a special sweet sauce.
Be sure not to miss the performance of Tokushima’s “Awa Odori” on the festival’s final day!
