Winter Trip to Hakodate [Day 1] ~Hakodate’s Morning Market, Bay Area, Motomachi, and more~

I visited Hakodate for 3 days and 2 nights over the winter. There was no end to things I wanted to do, but I was more than satisfied with being able to take the photo I wanted of Hakodate in the winter being both “sunny” and “snowy.”
This article will introduce the things that I did on my first day in Hakodate, including visiting the Hakodate morning market, the bay area, the Motomachi church, and foods around Hakodate!

Winter Trip to Hakodate [Day 2] ~Goryokaku, Hakodate City Tropical Botanical Garden, Trappistine Monastery, and Night Views and Snowy Landscapes~

A Fall Foliage Viewing Spot in Hokkaido: Breathtakingly Beautiful Kosetsu-en, a Garden Constructed by a Magnate by the Name of Iwafune in the Meiji Period

In Hokkaido’s Hakodate, there is a park called “Miharashi Park”, which covers an area of 460,000 m2 and features a Japanese-style garden called “Kosetsu-en”. In the garden, about 150 varieties of trees, the flowers and the quaint buildings provide the perfect foil for each other. What’s more, the fall foliage is too beautiful for words.

When you look at the expanse of the ocean sprawling in front of you, you can really appreciate that you are at the farthest northernmost point of Japan.
43 kilometers away across the ocean is the Russian Sakhalin Island, and on clear days it can even be seen by the naked eye!
For those who have travelled all across Japan, reaching this place gives off a huge sense of accomplishment for their journey.
