Hokkaido has a wealth of wonderful products that make great souvenirs, and their sweets especially have proven to be extremely popular over the years. Kitakaro is a beloved sweets brand from Hokkaido that just opened its newest shop, Kitakaro Sapporo Honkan, in March 2016.
There are three sites to enjoy the Sapporo Snow Festival: Odori site, Tsudome site, and Susukino site.The concepts for the festival are different at each site, making for triple the fun! Admission is free!
When people think of Sapporo, many think of Miso Ramen. Actually, there is a delicious ramen that only the locals know about. It's called "Sapporo Black", and you can try this specialty at Isono Kazuo, a ramen shop that's only open at night.
The 37th annual “Sapporo White Illumination” will be held. This event has gained its popularity as “Sapporo tradition” in early winter.

The Hokkaido YOSAKOI Soran Festival is a fusion between Koichi Prefecture’s famous “Yosakoi Festival” and Hokkaido’s traditional folk works, Soran Bushi. The festival is held across 20 venues in Hokkaido’s Sapporo City. Various teams, equipped with wooden clapper instruments called “naruko,” fans, and banners, put on dancing displays. There are paid seats available, but typically every venue’s performances are available to view for free.

Unusual even for Japan, this museum showcases beer. The building, whose red brick is reminiscent of the Meiji era, was built over 120 years ago, and it is registered as part of Hokkaido’s cultural heritage.
