Morioka Sansa Odori Festival, Iwate Prefecture

The parade is held over four days on Chuo-dori Street and is comprised of taiko drummers, flautists, singers, dancers, and floats. Sansa is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as being the largest ensemble of taiko drummers playing simultaneously in the world.

Morioka City Zoological Park

Over 700 animals of around 100 different species are housed at the Morioka City Zoological Park! From large animals like African elephants, giraffes, and lions, to Japan-native species such as Japanese monkeys, Japanese hares, green pheasants, and golden eagles, to Canadian otters, bighorn sheep, and pumas gifted to the zoo by Canada’s Victoria City, there are tons of animals to meet!
