Mito City's Kairakuen Garden is a famous plum blossom viewing spot. And on weekends during the period of the Plum Blossom Festival you can get from Ueno Station to the temporary Kairakuen Station by special limited express trains "Hitachi" and "Tokiwa" in about an hour.

Kamogawa, Chiba Prefecture – Nanabatake Road 2018

Every year, the large numbers of people that visit this area are surprised at how many flowers are blooming as early as January! The flowers look like they could be a solid carpet of yellow! Visiting Kamogawa in the early spring to see it covered in rape flowers, and even enjoying picking them, is great fun!

What Tokyo Runners Aspire For, the Tokyo Marathon

This marathon event takes place in Tokyo. It was first held in 2007.
In 2013, the Tokyo Marathon was registered in the World Marathon Majors, making it one of the major marathon events of the world. The marathon is also televised, so participants may be show on TV!
The event consists of a 42.195-kilometer full marathon and a 10-kilometer road race. There is also a wheelchair category marathon.

Lake Kawaguchi’s 2018 Winter Fireworks

Lake Kawaguchi hosts a winter fireworks show every year.
The sky is clearer during the winter than in the summer, so the enhanced beauty of the fireworks makes the Lake Kawaguchi show particularly popular.

Marunouchi Illumination 2017

Marunouchi’s annual winter scenery event, Marunouchi Illumination 2017, starts this year from November 9th (Thursday). Between the shops along the 1.2 kilometers of Marunouchi Naka-Dori, and the over 200 trees along Otemachi Naka-Dori, over 93 million LED lights in the Marunouchi-original “champagne gold” color light up the area to make a spectacular Christmastime cityscape.
