A Taste of a Classic Kyoto Restaurant in Tokyo Midtown’s Hibiya, “Nanzenji Hyotei Hibiya Store”

Hyotei is a long-standing historic restaurant on the grounds of Kyoto’s Nanzen-ji Temple. Established roughly 450 years ago, it started out as a teahouse.
It is well-known for its soft-boiled eggs, known as “Hyotei Tamago,” and its breakfast porridge.
Hyotei opened a new location in Tokyo Midtown’s Hibiya in March of 2018, so I made a reservation and stopped by for lunch.
