Aoshima is an island in Ehime Prefecture’s Ozu City, off of the Seto Inland Sea. This article will introduce a tour of Aoshima. Also known as Cat Island, Aoshima is a paradise for cats and cat-lovers like me, with a population of around 15 people and over 100 cats.
On this trip I enjoyed the beautiful tourist spot of Magome-juku in the Kiso valley of Gifu prefecture. The towns Feudal-era buildings and inns have been well preserved since the Edo era.
Why not try visiting winter locations in Tokyo’s neighboring Saitama Prefecture’s Chichibu? This area is 3 hours away from Ikebukuro by bus or the Seibu Line. I’ve come to visit the back-country areas of Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture. First off, I stopped to appreciate the artful ice formations!
You can reach Yamadera Station from Tokyo Station by taking the Yamagata Shinkansen for 2 hours and 30 minutes, then changing to the Senzan line at Yamagata Station and riding for about 20 minutes.
Recently I visited “Mikatagoko”, a place I’ve been longing to visit for a long time.
“Mikatagoko” consists of 5 individual lakes located in a valley surrounded by hills.
Hiroshima Prefecture is home to the stunning tourist spot and World Heritage Site, Miyajima. It is easily accessible with frequent ferry service available for pedestrians as well as cars.

Founded in 1029, Yoshimine-dera is the 20th temple on the Saigoku Kannon pilgrimage. Thanks to its location in the mountains, you can see areas of Kyoto and Mt. Hiei from various parts of the temple.
